Kenny Endo (taiko) joins Bamboo & Cherry Blossoms in an evening performance of newly choreographed works for Japanese dance – taiko – koto – shakuhachi. “Drum Dance Dream” will feature music by Japanese and American composers, including original works composed by Kenny Endo and John Kaizan Neptune.

Honolulu schools Feb 20-22

Honolulu and Kailua, Oahu

Sponsored by the East-West Center, Bamboo & Cherry Blossoms will visit Honolulu-area schools this February 20-22 in order to offer a fun, interactive workshop on traditional Japanese dance and musical instruments. The workshop will introduce students grades 4-12 to nihonbuyo dance, kabuki-style pantomime, and music for shakuhachi and koto.
